In my years as a music engraver, I've been introduced to scads of wonderful hymn tunes that I never knew existed. This is one of them, James M. Black's sprightly "When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder." This is a set of variations, ranging from a jig to bluesy/jazzy, with some of Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" thrown in. Take a listen...I think it'll make you smile.
