NATIONAL FLUTE ASSOCIATION - 50th Annual convention
I've been commissioned to write a piece to honor this milestone convention which is taking place in my hometown of Chicago on August 11-14! Flute ensembles from all over the country will be participating in the premiere of my new work during the convention. It should be something to behold. Hope to see you there! Details to come!

IN MY LIFE- FOR FLUTE AND PIANO - ONLY AVAILABLE FROM SHEET MUSIC PLUS!
The Beatles were my first musical love...first 45rpm record, first album and first piece of sheet music I ever bought. A few years back, I started a book of flute and piano arrangements that would feature Beatle ballads, but the project had to be dropped because of copyright issues at the time. I'm glad to see that this title is now available so I can start to share these arrangements with the world. Click here for ordering info.

SOARING SPIRITS - NEW FLUTE DUETS FROM HOPE PUBLISHING!
I've been engraving for Hope Publishing for over 13 years and never had the nerve to offer them any of my arrangements because I thought the flute category was admirably filled by Joel Raney's "Flute Stylings" books. However, the pandemic created a need, I thought, for a book of  flute duets based on classic hymns and soulful spirituals. Click here for details. Available from Carolyn Nussbaum Music, JW Pepper and Flute World, as well as direct from Hope Publishing.

THE SACRED FLUTIST - FLUTE SOLOS IN THE TIME OF PANDEMIC
At the start of the pandemic, Portland flutist Gail Gillespie encouraged me to write meaningful church arrangements for solo flute. I wrote 4 solos and posted them free to this website for anyone who wanted to use them. The next logical step was to expand to a full book (24 titles, including the original 4), which could serve as a companion volume to the Christmas book listed below. With the limitations imposed by COVID, I've had time to let my imagination loose on the possibilities for the solitary flutist. Now available from ALRY.

THE CHRISTMAS FLUTIST - For Flute Alone
I just know everybody's been wondering where those Christmas books for unaccompanied flute are! I didn't, actually, but the more I think about it, the more I believe that there's a place in our repertoire for a single solitary flutist playing Christmas tunes. They fit in very well as a church service prelude or for when you haven't got your favorite accompanist with you. A lot of the "plainsong" type songs have been included, such as "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel," "Of the Father's Love Begotten," and "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence" to name a few. Of course, you'll be able to find arrangements of favorites like "Angels We Have Heard on High," "Silent Night," "Joy to the World," etc. Check it out here! And if you've already got the book and still need more, you can download 2 bonus solos for free here!

BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER
Once you are able to gather and make music once more with your flute choir friends, please consider my new arrangement of Paul Simon's classic ballad. It's gospel-like and packs an emotional wallop.  Only available from Sheet Music Plus. Scored for 4 C Flutes, Alto Flute, Bass Flute and optional Contrabass Flute. Click here for details.
